One of the BIGGEST mistakes people make when trying to lose weight OR eat healthier is skipping breakfast. We’ve heard several reasons why people skip but the top two reasons are 1) Lack of planning & 2) Lack of time.
Skipping breakfast leaves your body in a fasting (conservation state) so instead of it working like the FAT BURNING machine it should be, it’s laying dormant until you stuff it full at lunch because your body is now in starvation mode.
So Let’s Fix That!
I LOVE Overnight Oats because they’re SUPER DUPER easy to throw together. You can either eat them cold or quickly throw them in the microwave for 3-4 minutes if needing to run out the door.

I love making my oats for days in advance and storing them in my half pint mason jars. For all my amazon lovers, you can grab your jars here.
Use this same recipe as a base to make a variety of overnight oats. Instead of apples you can use any fruit you like (frozen or fresh).
When adding nut butter (peanut, almond, cashew butter) add no more than 1-2 tbsp.
Chia Seeds add healthy fats, fiber and protein to your meal making it more FILLING. Enjoy!
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup milk of choice (I used Almond)
- 1 Apple (or any other fruit)
- 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- Dash of sea salt
- 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds
- Chop up your apple using an apple slicer or knife
- Combine all ingredients in a Mason Jar or bowl that can be sealed and stir well.
- Refrigerate overnight.
- Serve hot or cold the next morning
- Garnish with some nuts if desired.
