Losing weight can be tough!
You’re trying to do everything “right”. Exercise more…cut calories yet you’re still not seeing results.
Maybe you’re making the same common mistakes that so many make which in turn result in Plateaus & Self Sabotage and you don’t even know it!
Here are the 5 mistakes you may be making BUT want to avoid if trying to #StopDietingStartLiving
Mistake #1. Not Sticking to 1 Thing
This is what I like to call the “bandwagon effect.” You start out enthusiastically with a new workout, challenge, or meal plan BUT when the results aren’t coming fast enough (because you’re used to quick weight loss), you jump onto the next thing.
Giving something just 7, 14, or even 21 days is not long enough to see a TRUE change in your mindset or habits let alone your waistline. You have to be willing to stick to 1 program and give both it and your body time to work if you want to see lasting results.
Mistake #2. Making your journey too complex
We all know that in order to be successful, you have to set goals and have a plan. Where most go wrong is that you’re setting far too many goals, having unrealistic expectations, or just flat out doing too much.
Trying to go from ZERO to 60 is a sure way to get overwhelmed and a quick path to quitting. Start out with max of 1 or 2 goals to work on and as you achieve those goals either build on them or move onto the next.
So if your main problems areas are consistently eating healthy without cheating and planning out your meals then work on those areas 1st. Once you get those then add on working out consistently and finding something you enjoy and will commit too. Don’t make it too complex.
Mistake #3. Skipping the hard stuff
Sometimes the hard stuff is EXACTLY what you’re needing to challenge your mind or body to start seeing results. Finding the root cause of your cyclic weight gain, changing your behaviors OR shifting your mindset isn’t sexy OR easy BUT it’s necessary if you want to lose the weight and KEEP it off.
Otherwise you’ll be jumping from workout to workout, diet to diet having skipped the “hard stuff” that was the key to unlocking your results. The hard stuff will stretch, challenge & push you but that is exactly where the results lie.

Mistake #4. ‘All or Nothing’ mindset
When it comes to healthy weight loss & healthy living DROP the “all or nothing” mindset. The reason so many of our Life Changers have been able to successfully lose weight & keep it off is because we OVER emphasize progress, not perfection. It doesn’t require you to give up “ALL” your favorite foods OR for you to go “ALL IN” doing extreme workouts to lose weight & get in shape.
Healthy living is a journey NOT a race. So you can work on certain areas like your spiritual and mental health and not put so much focus on the physical and STILL be making progress to better health. As you learn what’s right for you and your body you feel more confident to tackle more which leads to more last and significant results.
Mistake #5. Being Close Minded
Can’t expect different results if being closed minded and only willing to try what’s comfortable or what you already know. That’s a recipe both boredom and limited results. Open your mind up to try new foods or a new program that has pushed you in ways no other program has pushed you before. Variety is the key to avoiding plateaus and finding what works best for you.
And keep in mind our bodies are constantly changing as we age and as we’re working out. So what may have worked for you in the beginning OR years ago may no longer work for you now. Our bodies get adjusted to the same old diet and routine…be willing to switch it up!
